Typical scenario 1, "The inhabited archipelago"
In a marshland transformed into an archipelago, water structures every movement, every memory, every way of life. Through the stories of Pascal, a former resident who relocated, and Ms. Dumarais, a farmer who became a pioneer of lake dwellings, a society emerges that has agreed to cede land to the water. Oscillating between nostalgia and acceptance, the inhabitants recount the turning point: the 2036 flood, the abandoned houses, and then the reconstruction on denser, self-sufficient islands. This short film offers a glimpse into a territory where the state has strongly supported the transition, and where a new balance is emerging between renunciation, resilience, and innovative ways of living. The archetype is that of a planned territory, profoundly transformed, where humans adapt to a landscape largely reshaped by water.
