Propose

Define concrete adaptation actions at the end of the project, an approach that can be replicated in Europe.

Stocks

1 | Observation and study of the climate of the Marais Poitevin

Creation of a climate observatory, soon to be accessible online to all, which will bring together existing and new data from studies conducted as part of the project.

This observatory is particularly interested in the following questions:

  • What are the climate vulnerabilities of the Marais Poitevin?
  • What are citizens' views on climate change?
  • What are the citizen initiatives in favor of ecological transition?
  • How is the climate changing?
  • What is the carbon sequestration capacity of natural environments (carbon sinks)?
  • How is sedimentation evolving in Aiguillon Bay?
  • What is the impact of climate change on biodiversity?
What is the climate observatory?

A space where you can easily find information relating to the climate within the scope of the project: figures, maps, historical data and indicator monitoring, etc.

2 | Collective mobilization

A variety of activities and events to enable residents, socio-economic stakeholders, elected officials and experts to express their visions and prepare together for the future of the Marais Poitevin: participatory workshops, citizens' assemblies known as "Agoras", events focusing on supporting change, shows, and experimenting with solutions based on consultation with residents, such as the greening of town centres.

3 | Definition of an action plan and sharing of results

Throughout the project, communication and awareness-raising actions are put in place for residents. Results and experiences are shared with professionals, elected officials and members of other European projects, notably via the LIFE network.

At the end of the project, a operational action plan will be proposed in favor of adaptation to climate change, thanks to a better knowledge of vulnerabilities and the involvement of all audiences.
