An unprecedented collective commitment
The LIFE Maraisilience project was developed collectively by 9 public bodies involved in the Marais Poitevin region.
It is coordinated by the Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park, with the Aunis Atlantique, Pays de Fontenay-Vendée, Sud Vendée Littoral and Vendée Grand Littoral Communities of Communes, the Niortais and La Rochelle Urban Communities, the Sèvre Niortaise Watershed Mixed Syndicate and La Rochelle University.
Le project scope extends beyond the wetland of the Marais Poitevin, with more than 350,000 hectares involved in the process to anticipate the future!
What is a LIFE program?
The LIFE programme is a financial instrument of the European Commission dedicated to supporting innovative projects in the fields of environment and climate.
The LIFE Maraisilience project falls under the “Climate Governance and Information” category.


Many public and private partners are involved in the project (European Commission, ADEME, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Pays de la Loire Region, DARVA, Groupama, IMA, MAAF, MACIF, MAIF, Mutuelle de Poitiers Assurances, EDF Group Foundation, Séolis, Gérédis).
